# Reminders

> Sending payment reminders to drivers and reading the reminder log.

The reminder log records every reminder sent to a driver: who it went to, the message, the date, the channel, and whether it was delivered.

## Sending a reminder

You can send a reminder from a driver's profile, or from the reminder log using **New reminder**.

    Reminders are always addressed to one driver.

    State the amount outstanding and the day it relates to. Keep it short and factual.

  <Step title="Send and confirm delivery">
    The reminder appears in the log with its delivery status. A failed delivery usually means the phone number on the driver record is wrong.

## Reading the log

Filter by channel or by status to see what has actually reached drivers. A driver who has received three reminders and still has a gap is a case for a conversation, not a fourth reminder.

  Reminders are a record as well as a nudge. When a driver disputes what they were told, the log settles it.
